How climate change will impact Arizona’s weather patterns and water availability

New film documents photographing Arizona’s monsoon

Anyone who lives in Arizona can tell you that the most exciting time of the year is “monsoon season”. This is when wildlife warns of the upcoming storm by scurrying back to their dens, birds flock to take cover in their nests, cloud cover darkens the sunset sky, lightening shows strike, and then the finale – a wall of dust emerges within just minutes, covering everything in its’ path.

Photographing such weather phenomena can be quite challenging. In “Why I Chase the Arizona Monsoon”, photographer and storm chaser Bryan Snider documents his journey following and photographing Arizona’s most extreme weather while capturing the excitement of the Arizona monsoon.
